Pointed petals are white inside with a dusty crimson-pink exterior edged with white. Looks like candy when closed in the morning, in the evening and on cloudy days. Opens wide in the sunshine to show a big white star with a royal purple base. One or two flowers per bulb. The species, native to the Himalayas, is called Lady Tulip.
