Crocus tommasinianus

Purplish-red slender flowers with a lighter base and margins. Pointy petals, 1-2 flowers per corm, and a very pronounced white stripe on the leaves. Doesn’t compete well in grass, but easily reseeds itself and forms colonies in gardens. This crocus species is the first to bloom in many places. Large, almost as large as the Jumbos, vigorous and free-flowering. The most tolerant of moisture during the dormant period. Species called Woodland Crocus, native to Bulgaria and Dalmatia.

3–4" tall. Very Early Spring blooms, Z3-8, 5cm/up bulbs.
