Kelp Meal - Organic

×
Kelp Meal for amending soil, or feeding to livestock.

Soil: (NPK 1.3-0.1-1.7; 1.9% Calcium, 2.7% Sulfur) Dried and ground seaweed contains trace minerals, enzymes and amino acids. An excellent source of naturally chelated elements. The U of Maine Soil Testing Service recommends kelp meal for addressing boron and sulfur deficiencies. A complete list of the macro- and micronutrient contents can be found in the last image. Mix into the soil at the rate of 300–600#/acre or 7–14#/1000 sq ft. A-size MOFGA; B/C sizes OMRI.

Livestock: (5.7% Protein, 2.6% Fat, 7% Fiber, 58% Carbohydrates) Our feed-grade kelp meal is an excellent source of iodine and vitamin A and provides lower concentrations of dozens of other vitamins and trace minerals. Enthusiastically sought by livestock: I remember visiting a local farm several years ago where a loose goat followed me into the house so that she could stuff her head into the open bag of kelp sitting in the mudroom. Feed free-choice or mix in at 1–2% of total ration.
