Black Kabouli was developed at Washington State University to be tolerant of cold soils and light frosts. 2' plants with ornamental bicolor pink-purple flowers bear abundant two-seeded pods resembling beach peas with black medium-sized beans. Can be eaten fresh, steamed like edamame, or used as a dry bean.
